Step 2 of the Journey - Request for Akvile

Now that we have approval from USCIS, we need to submit a request to adopt Akvile.  We are on the waiting list for Lithuania (LT) we feel we have a good chance to adopt this little girl, who at the time we have no idea how old she is, if this is even a new picture. 

So we verbally state that we want to adopt this child, and now more forms must be completed.  A letter stating "Why" we want to adopt her.  How she will adapt in our lifestyle, why we think we are the couple for her.

So after a couple of weeks, we learned that we were not the only family (from our agency, that we are aware of) has requested to adopt this little girl from LT.  We learn that these other families have not completed there USCIS paperwork yet (bonus for us, heart breaking for the other families), but we continue to wait.

Finally in July 2010, we learned that we have been approved to adopt this 5 year old girl Akvile.
