This morning we got up and chatted with my sister in Oregon. She is always very excited to talk to us. After a bit Peggy made some French Toast and we got ready to go to the orphanage.
Yesterday it was rainy so we did not go out, today a lot of the snow is melted and the courtyard is like a sheet of ice. When we got to the orphanage it was like a skating rink. I almost fell down a couple of times. We went inside and got Akvila. She was coloring and the caregiver made her bring it with her. She did not play with it much, but Peggy did help her color. After a little bit of that, she went peeking in the bag and pulled out some candy we brought. Peggy started to draw some pictures of animals and then I told her "hey, draw a turkey with your hand." Peggy took Akvila's hand (she was hesitant at first) and drew around her hand and made a turkey. Akvila then tried and did Peggy's hand. She kind of liked this. Peggy then played in the house some. I was on the outside and they acted like they were using the phone and Peggy said "Hello, you want Akvila?" She then acted like she was handing the phone and Akvila said "Hello?" It was soft but it was English.
After a little while longer we started to get ready to leave. Peggy was taking her upstairs when one of the caregivers was coming down to get her for lunch. We said our goodbyes and we left for the day.
Right now, Peggy and mom are going to a Catholic Chruch for mass. I am sure it will all be in Lithuanian, but at least they have gone.
"At least they have gone"..... is that your way of saying the apartment is a little cramped and you need some space? hehehehehe I pondered over this line for quite some time.... also about the one "she is always very excited to talk with us." hummmmmmm you make me sound like a spazz! (although my kids would think you are correct!) ;-)
ReplyDeleteSo..... you going to take a nap so that you can stay up to watch the Super Bowl? It will be 1 am LT time. I am sure if you do miss it...that someone could/would, play by important play, send you up dates???
Hopefully you all had a nice time sight seeing today.... and did not get too wet. Would love to hear what Peggy and Mom thought of the church service.
Love to all~~ sis
