Day 6 Evening

Between our visits today mom & I ventured out into Old Town and walked around.  We found another grocery store that is a little bigger and had more to choose from.  We bought a few things including balloons and noise makers for Akvila.  We found an Amber shop and looked at all the beautiful Lithuanian made jewelry.  We went into a few other shops but didn't find anything we wanted or needed.  We forgot the camera so we could not take pictures of the beautiful churches we saw.  We will have to do that another day.

We went back tonight to play with Akvila and grandma went with us.  We are getting to where we can understand Akvila most of the time.  She gets a little upset when we don't know what she is saying.  Tomorrow morning someone from the law center is going with us to talk with the caretakers to see how she is doing and if she is adjusting well.

Akvila won't let Wayne pick her up or anything so when she wants to get in to the little foam tube she wants me to lift her and she is HEAVY.  I am trying really hard to be careful that I don't hurt my back.  Now we are relaxing and tomorrow we will go back to see her again in the morning.  It's very tiring going there twice a day and playing for about two hours each time but it is lots of fun.  Akvila did help tickle Wayne's feet tonight which was cute.  Hopefully she is getting used to us more and more each day so that once the adoption is finalized she will be ready and willing to go with us.

  1. How CUTE!!!!! Tickling daddy!! I love it!!!

Peggy, please be careful with your back. When I saw the other pictures I wondered about you trying to lift her.

Glad you and mom got a chance to just wander around the city.... you all need a chance to just relax.

I had wondered if you were able to go more than once a day to see her. Glad to hear that you have been.... but tiring Im sure. How far from the apartment is it?

    Love you all~~

  2. It is approx 7km to the Orphanage. It cost us about 20 Litas per trip; each way. So $8 for about a 20 minute ride.
